21 Weeks

According to The Bump:
Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

I hope the babe enjoyed some decaf coffee this morning! And an apple. I am absolutely sure the baby enjoyed some French Onion dip from this weekend! YUM :)

I am still feeling really good. Although I am confused how the babe can change from a cantaloupe (which seemed huge) to a banana? I am not sure The Bump has the most accurate fruit to baby ratios.

Tuesday night, Ryan and I were laying in bed both diligently reading our designated baby books. I was reading symptoms of week 20- backaches, bleeding gums, dizziness, heartburn- and exclaiming to Ryan that I had NONE of these markers. But like clockwork, I was brushing my teeth yesterday and when I spit, the only thing coming out of my mouth was BLOOD. I guess I spoke too soon.

I am still running but have noticed that the urge to pee has increased with every mile. Last weekend I had to get off the treadmill to use the restroom. So weird. I am also doing yoga and going to my first pre-natal yoga class this weekend.

Ryan and I have started to look for bedding for the babe. I can see why people find out the sex. The neutral bedding is just not that cute. What to do, what to do?

  1. I too am confused by the the baby to fruit ratio, although I very much enjoy referring to the baby as plum-baby, cantalope-baby, etc. A cantalope does seem a lot bigger than a banana!

  2. For the bedding I recommend getting something that's either a neutral theme (if you're into the theme side) or if you don't want to do a theme get something that is stripes or polka dots (or something along those lines) and add either blue or pink/purple/red accents to what you get when you give birth. We did go theme and did jungle to keep it neutral so that we could use it for subsequent children but have added pink and purple (and animal print!) accents to the green walls.

Also, I didn't know it was your birthday last week until I got caught up on your blog. Happy belated Birthday!
