We are feeling better now. We have some visitors during the week who help break up the day and both grandmas have been over to give me a little break. People have also seemed to give us the weekends "free" so we can have a little family time with one another. It is so nice to hang out with our new family of three! We walk around the neighborhood showing off our babe and we have taken him out to breakfast and lunch. Things are moving forward. :)
Here are some things I have learned:
- Having a shower is a luxury
- Things that worked yesterday to calm a baby may not work today
- Things that didn't work yesterday to calm a baby may work today
- It is possible to be so tired that talking becomes difficult
- A sleeping baby is the most peaceful thing I have laid eyes on
- Having someone clean your house for you is the best thing that has ever happened to me
- People telling you that your baby is perfect never gets old
- Wine is necessary
- So is beer
- Everyone I know should have a blog so I can read them while I breastfeed
I'll leave you with a father son photo. How cute are they?
Your three are amazing.
ReplyDeleteToday I read a book to my five week old grandson.. because my daughter and son-in- law do it every single morning. Guess What? Baby Paul stopped, his eyes got big and his body became still and I was sure he listened to every single word. He is so lucky to have such caring parents.. who know the value of so many things especially the literary word.. world..
I love love love your blog woman! It cracks me up and gives me such insight for the future!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI cried when I saw this picture. So precious.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the picture! Just look at how they look at each other!
ReplyDeleteI love that picture too. And I second you on everything you've learned (and the compassion for others). Paul is doing a great job keeping his head up!
ReplyDeleteAdorable picture! We need some of you and Paul too~ looking all gorgeous post-baby! Maids are a necessity with kids. Then when the kids grow up they can take out the trash and clean the base boards =)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet picture!
