19 Months!

I can't believe my kiddo is more than 19 months old. He is a rambunctious little dude that is talking all the time and of course being the cutest toddler in the world.

His one struggle is eating with a fork. He likes to start off his meals with utensils, and then I guess good table manners take too long so before I know it, he is using his hands to shove food in his mouth. Lovely.

He is full on saying Mama and I love it. Sometimes he says "Mum." Sometimes he says "Mommy." And every time it warms my heart. I guess it was worth the wait and all that time he called me the dog's name.
He is talking up a storm (I don't know if I can list all the words he says) and knows almost everything we are saying. This is good and bad since verbal opinions are beginning. Some mornings he has very strong convictions of what sippy cup he would like for the day. It can take up to 15 minutes to pick the right one. It can feel like the longest 15 minutes of my life.

His favorite phrase is "I did it." He makes a shot on the basketball hoop, turns to us and slyly remarks, "I did it." He eats a piece of pizza, "I did it." He reads a book, "I did it." You get the idea. Luckily, we think it is pretty cute.

Some new favorite tricks are to jump on the couch and then land on his rear end. He thinks this achievement is rather hilarious. He is obviously still playing basketball but is also into kicking the ball around the kitchen. He played soccer independently this morning for 20 minutes.
This kid still won't watch regular TV programs. And believe me that we have tried EVERYTHING. The only thing he will give some attention to is..... basketball. So I have started DVRing some random college basketball games for emergency purposes. So far these have helped us in a pinch.

Today at the library we were working on colors, and the librarian pointed to a blue house and asked the crowd of little people what color it was. Paul shouted, "BLUE." Everyone seemed very impressed with my son's intellect. I did not share that blue is the only color he knows.

Paul really loves making us laugh and trying out some jokes. He thinks hiding under blankets is funny. He thinks making silly faces is funny. He thinks jumping is funny. He thinks fake coughing is absolutely hysterical. He also thinks putting things on his head is pure entertainment.
Paul is such a good sleeper. When we are at home he takes a 3 hour nap in the afternoon. He should sleep that much for how high his activity level is when he is awake. He goes to bed at 7:30 and I had to wake him up at 8:30 this morning so we could go to the library. Amazing. Simply amazing.

I cannot believe how fast he is growing and changing in front of our eyes. I am just trying to soak up every last ounce. He truly is our little sunshine.
