I love lists. I believe in deadlines and due dates. When I was in school I never once asked for an extension. I have never ever paid a bill late. I always return my library books on time. So I am usually a big fan of New Year's resolutions.
But this year I haven't found the motivation to make a long list of goals. I don't really have anything I want to check off the bucket list. I don't want to worry about the number on the scale. I think I drink enough water.
So I only thought of one resolution this year:
To appreciate the moment. I can't stop saying it, but these last 8 months have flown by. Although I want to stop time, wrap Paul up, stunt his growth, and keep him this small and cute; I just don't think that is going to happen. So I want to stay present, savor the moments, play peek-a-boo a million times, smother the little man with kisses, laugh with my husband, hold hands, and breathe.
You, my dear d.i.l., are wise beyond your years. It has taken me forever to learn this. Time flies. Enjoy the ride.

ReplyDeletesecond, i think this is a great new years resolution and i like your attitude.
I'm with you. I'm pumping Bjorn full of coffee and cigarettes - anything to stunt his growth and keep him right where he is right now. Minus the tantrums, of course. :)
