I don't know how people have a baby, job, and continue to blog. I know many people do, since I read their blogs daily, but I cannot figure out how to do this. We are in the 2nd week of school and it is exhausting. By the time I get home, I cannot think of anything intelligent nor entertaining to say.
I don't know how people keep their house clean. I like a clean house but mine looks like a disaster. It is nearly impossible to clean while Paul is awake. No, it is impossible to clean while he is awake. And when he takes a nap, I want to take a little nap of my own. Which I guess is my own fault. I am in full campaign mode of "we need a cleaning lady." Ryan is not buying my speeches, but I hope to wear him down.
I don't know how people make dinner every night. This seems to be my major downfall as a homemaker. Well, that and cleaning. When I get home from work the LAST thing I want to do is make dinner. Or think about dinner. I wonder if I can get a cleaning lady who can cook us dinner. I'll look into this.
Obviously things are a little busy over here, but we have just gone back to work so I hope to have more of a routine soon. I am only working 3 days of week, so you would think I would have plenty of time to take pictures of my cute baby and blog. But he is insane, so I spend much of my days off making sure he doesn't end up in the hospital. We are going to the mountains this weekend, so hopefully my dad will take some pictures that I can post!
Happy Labor Day! I hope you all have a wonderful LONG weekend!!
I don't know how other moms do it either. I swear all I do is wipe the kitchen floor and it's NEVER clean! We had a cleaning lady but need to find another one. It's so worth it, even if it's only once a month.
ReplyDeleteAs for dinner? I try to cook a few things on the weekend to eat throughout the week, but it doesn't always happen. One thing I try to do is to prepare individual components (e.g., grilled chicken, rice, pasta). Then with an assortment of frozen veggies and sauces on hand, I can throw concoctions together as needed during the week to make a meal. And when all else fails, we eat cereal!
i'm totally feeling the same way these days too! i want to pay someone to clean my house and do my laundry! its impossible to do any of this while Scarlett is awake and running around, and yes as soon as she naps i'm ready for a nap too. so tired these days.
ReplyDeleteand non-moms are like, but you only work three days a week! but ya know what? even if i didnt work, i'd still want to pay someone else to clean and launder! so i figure working justifys this luxury. now only to find someone to do it...
there is a genius company in Austin where the cleaning lady comes to your house, cleans it, and then stocks your fridge with the pre-prepared meals their company also sells.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard!!! But you do it with an amazing husband, the bestest friends, and a drink in your hand!! jk (well, not really). But yes, it is hard. Makes me think about how Kristin ended yoga sculpt yesterday saying, "this class will never be easy, it will always challenge you."
ReplyDeletePerhaps that's motherhood too. Not in a bad way, but it always keeps us on our toes, challenging us, and making us appreciate those moments with our babes, special times with our hubbies, and much needed days with our girlfriends.
So call me when you are back and let's cheer to it being hard! ;) xoxo
