I'm reading "Pot Limit Omaha" because I suck at poker lately.
I can't wait to hear about Her Fearful Symmetry. Time Traveler's Wife was the most recent book that I cried and cried over. Loved it.
Gone With the Wind. I have never read and am enjoying it so far.
i loved when i read gone with the wind!i am reading "Lit" the new one by Mary Karr, who wrote "Cherry" and "Liar's Club."
Thanks to you, E, for recommending "The Help." I'm enjoying it. I loved "The Liar's Club" and wonder if "Lit" is as good.
God.. please let me read " What to expect when I am expecting" I just finished "the Hour I First Believed" All 700+++ pages of it.. I only finished because I'm going to go hear him at DU w/ E.. but .. Lord have Mercy.. does this man need a new editor .. talk about five books in one.. I don't mean to to be mean.. but when his wife died at the end.. well.. I didn't cheer.. but.. I did say .. whew.. got rid of one of those miserable character.. o.k o.k not the most positive review. I am now reading Berg's Home Safe.. and I don't care what happens.. it's better than 700 plus pages of misery!signed.. telling like it is.. Ann
Ohhh, I read Gone with the Wind on my Honeymoon. So good and dramatic!
when i read gone with the wind i acted like a tempestuous scarlett bitch, which i loved every minute of, but it drove will up the wall with my antics. i cant imagine what my self- indulgent honeymoon behavior would have been if it read it on a honeymoon.
Just finished "The Double Bind" that Ann lent me, but didn't like the ending--trying to say that the protagonist is crazy?--what's up with that? Am now starting "Buffalo Soldier" by the same author--Chris Bohjalian. I loved "Midwives" that he wrote, so hope I'm not disappointed. We finally watched "Slumdog Millionaire"--just signed up for Netflix, as we don't have tv yet here in Maui--loved this movie, and it reminded me of a book I read not to long ago--"A Fine Balance" by Rohinton Mistry--loved the book, even though it was somewhat depressing--couldn't believe that it took place in the 1970s--with all the corruption, I would have thought it was written about India in the 1940's or 1950's. I have another of his to read--"Such a Long Journey."--
Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm so appreciative of your comments, questions and stories!
