Baby Bump- 39 Weeks!

How far along: 39 weeks!  He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth!

How big is baby: A mini watermelon- about 20 inches and a little over 7 pounds!

Sleep:  Hit or miss.  Last night was pretty good but overall it is getting harder and harder.  I miss sleeping on my stomach, which is still worlds away because those breast feeding hoots don't help with that either!
Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Don't feel like cooking and don't feel like figuring out what I want to eat.  I am on a balanced diet of cereal, apples. and peanut butter pretzels.  And junior mints.
Exercise:  I think my yoga practice officially took its break this week.  It is just getting too uncomfortable.  But I am proud to say I did yoga until 38 1/2 weeks pregnant.  I am teaching my last yoga class tonight before I am on maternity leave!

Gender: BOY!!
Movement:  Yes!

Worries: We still don't have a name.  We change our minds on the hour.  Paul told my M.I.L that we were going to name the baby Howie.  We are not.  However, the Elf on the Shelf is now conveniently named Howie.

What I'm loving: The Christmas decorations are up, the tree is decorated, and the lights are on outside.  Sometimes my husband can be a bit of scrooge during the holidays.  This is disappointing.  I like Christmas- a lot.  I like the excess of it.  I think it is a little fun to go over the top.  Maybe that explains why I can't stop buying my two year old Christmas presents.

Symptoms: We have reached the point of the pregnancy where I can't call anyone without them thinking I've had the baby.  I have not.  I would like to make a public service announcement and say I PROMISE to let you know when this baby boy arrives.  Believe me, no one will be more excited than Ryan and I.  (Of course it is nice that people are checking in on us and making sure I am feeling okay)

What I'm looking forward to: Holding that snuggling little baby.  Smelling that newborn smell.

Best moment of the week: We went to go visit my friend that just had baby #2 and has a son that is around Paul's age.  She looked calm and happy and reported that the addition was not as stressful as she thought it would be.  Just what I wanted/needed to hear.  Paul patted the new baby's head and told the mom he had to be gentle with the baby.  So sweet!

Paul also found a very convenient place to put his milk when we are laying on the couch.

  2. You look AMAZING for 39 weeks! I'm soooo looking forward to sleeping on my stomach again too. And good for your for doing yoga until nearly the end - my exercise routine got the boot around 25 weeks when another more rigorous than walking made breathing nearly impossible. Good luck with your last week!

  3. Hi...I just discovered your blog. I started one to document my pregnancy and more. I wanted you to know that we didn't have a name for our son either. It was until he was two days old and we were being sent home that we decided on Colton Matthew...with possible nicknames of Colt or Cole. We couldn't agree on anything and we were so nervous about picking one. Good Luck! You look great!
