Things On My Phone

I love looking through my phone and finding all of these funny pictures about what we've been up to!
I let Charlie eat a pop tart.  And then he spread yogurt all over it.  Disgusting or awesome?  Hard to tell.

We went to the library and Paul insisted on wearing his cape and also carrying around some sticky notes and a pen to write down some "rules."

Here are all the rules.  Please follow them.

We also like to do this now.  I'll see you soon emergency room.

Paul's really into Memory or the matching game, but you have to watch him closely because someone is a little cheater.

Super Paul!!

Charlie loves to color and paint and I let him when I don't care about paint being all over his clothes, his face, my table.

4 Things on a Thursday

1. Audio books.  Are you all listening to those?  I fell in love with listening to Serial in my car and now I might be ready to dabble in the audio book world.  Thoughts?  Suggestions?

2. Why Being a Mom is Enough.  My sweet mom sent this to me and I love it.

3. Tuesday I took the boys to the museum where we met our friends.  All was fun until the power went out and we had to leave early.  Paul cried that it was the best day until the lights went out and he had to leave Nolan and the museum.  Anyway, the museum is about 40 minutes from our house and I was REAL nervous that Charlie would fall asleep on the way home and ruin nap time for himself, but more importantly for me.  So I told Paul he could have a donut if he was able to keep Charlie awake. Worked like a charm.

4. My big confession is that I hate bath time.  I don't hate it while they are in the actual bath because I can just read a book or a magazine, but getting them dressed and then dried and dressed again seems like a lot of work.  However, Tuesday night Charlie ate a yogurt, got it everywhere (the biggest hot spot was his hair) and I had to break my maximum once a week bath time.  At least he was cute!

It is almost the weekend... A long weekend!

A Wednesday Laugh

If it wasn't clear before, it is clear now.  I live in a boy house.  An ALL boy house.  And this is what we do for entertainment.   Brothers are just the best!

Christmas Day

After we put the kids to bed, Ryan and I poured some wine and watched our annual viewing of Christmas Vacation.  Ryan says he wished he could watch it for the first time again because it is so funny!

We anticipated Paul would wake up EARLY because he was so excited, but we were actually up before him!  We did hear him open his door (oh yes he's been sleeping in his own room) and run down the stairs- we had to yell for him to come back in our room.  I guess he didn't really care what we thought about the whole morning, he just wanted to see what SANTA brought!!

We laid in bed for a little bit and then told Paul he could wake up Charlie.  Charlie was NOT amused.

Finally, Paul felt he better just crawl in Charlie's bed so he understood the urgency of the situation.

I tried to get one picture of the boys on the stairs together, but that was just kind of a stupid plan! :)

Finally they ran into the family room and opened their first present together!

Then it was just a lot of present opening!

We hung around for awhile and played with all our new toys and then got dressed and ready for my parent's house.  This little gem was waiting for us on the porch!
He can't quite reach the pedals, but it is super cool and all the boys on our street have one, so I am sure they will be pleased that a 4 year old will join them on the neighborhood adventures!
Charlie loved it too!

Some big gift highlights were the whoopee cushions my children received and LOVED.

Always lots of presents at Grandma and G's house!

Ryan was lucky enough to receive this LIFE SIZE cutout of Payton Manning.  Yes everyone, this is in my house.  Ryan of course was thrilled.

We ate some brunch and then headed outside to try and release the extra excitement

We headed home and put the kids down for a nap.  We surveyed the scene and this is what my living room looked like:

We had big plans to go to a movie when the kids woke up, but they slept forever and I think everyone was exhausted.  It even started to snow Christmas night so we stayed put and played with all our new toys!

It was a wonderful Christmas, with a perfect mixture of old traditions and new traditions!  But I have to say, I am SO HAPPY not to move that ridiculous elf every single night for another year!!

The day after Christmas looked like this.  They literally had a hangover.

What was your favorite Christmas gift?

Weekend Recap

It is Monday but it is the ONLY day I have to work this week, so life is not bad.  At all.  We had a great weekend and even though it was busy we had lots of fun!

I was looking through pictures on my phone and found that Paul must have stolen my phone and done a little photography himself.  I love that boy.

I think the ones of the planes are actually artistic?

Friday afternoon we picked up the boys and headed to our neighbor's house for a 2 year old birthday party.  There were 12 kids the oldest being 12 who watched ALL the kids in the basement.  Such a treat.  Although the adults ate dinner in record time because we knew once we sat down someone was going to come up and need something.  Doesn't that always happen?

Saturday morning I taught yoga to the swim team again and then Ryan and I took the kids to the gym. We just joined LifeTime and LOVE that there is child care.  We let the kids play soccer and then took them to the "classroom."  Paul said Charlie cried, but he sang him a song and all was okay.  Sweet brothers!

Saturday night Ryan and I went out to dinner to celebrate my upcoming 34th birthday!!  We had a great time at a new hip awesome restaurant.  No one was there at 6:15 when we had our reservation, but by the time we left around 8:00 it was busy.  We are old and can't even think about waiting to eat until after 8.  Maybe again one day?

Sunday was selfie day and then LAZY.

Charlie played cars and likes to get himself situated on the stairs so he can carefully line up his crew.

Then it started to snow and I put the boys down for a nap. For whatever reason Charlie woke up 30 minutes later and wouldn't go back to sleep unless he was laying directly on top of me.  Sounds good to me Charlie!

I didn't do any vacuuming or laundry that I should have done, so this morning was a bit hectic, but I am sure I will catch up while we are off work!

Happy Monday all!! Have a wonderful day!!

Found on my phone!

Don't you love when you find hilarious pictures on your phone that you totally forgot about?  Or wish you would forget about?  Here is what is on my phone roll:

Charlie loves a good selfie.  He thinks he is really funny and laughs every time he can see himself in the camera!

This is one of the pictures I wish I could forget about.  Sometimes when I take a shower, Charlie sneaks upstairs and basically DESTROYS my bathroom while I try and get clean.  It really starts off the day right when you step out of the shower and see this.

The only way to watch TV is bum up.

Paul was playing "dentist" with his doctor kit and I DIE over the glasses.  But he was very serious.

Another pastime of Charlies' is emptying my purse, disassembling my wallet and finding my keys so he can make the car horn honk.  Fun times at the Vaughn household.

This one is just from the other day at the trampoline park.  Charlie looks terrified and Paul looks ecstatic.

Happy Wednesday!
