Friday Favorites

What I'm laughing about:
This is hilarious and worth three minutes of your life

What I'm listening to:

What I'm Reading:

A co-worker said they read this for book club and it sparked great discussion.  Now it is on my Kindle!

What I'm Buying:

Just bought this cape for Paul for Christmas, obviously with a P on it.  He's been playing superhero lately so I think it will be perfect!

What is on my wishlist:

These cute stripes would be a perfect transition into fall!

Happy Weekend y'all!  I'll be back next week to discuss taking a 4 year old to the dentist to fill a cavity and when your almost 2 year old throws up all over you in King Soopers!  Spoiler alert- I drank a beer at 11:45 AM to deal with the above!

Friday Favorites!

Sometimes short weeks seems like long weeks.  Am I right?

But my favorite day is here and it is raining in Colorado this morning and all I want to do is curl up on the couch with a blanket and my coffee and read PEOPLE magazine while the Today Show is on in the background.  Instead, I will go and entertain teenagers and try to teach them something.

This blog is so flipping awesome because even though not a lot of people read it, my family does.  And so who got themselves a faux fur vest?  This gal.  My mom is a shopper, always been a shopper and she likes to be on the hunt for something.  So one day this week I get several text messages, all pictures of fur vests from my little shopper.  Of course she was already out of the store before I could answer, so what does that lady do?  Go the next day to make a purchase.  She would make a great personal assistant.  It is still a little warm to wear the vest, but I'll be sure to take a picture when I do.

My dad is actually similar in this way.  Sometime this summer I mentioned I wanted to read the book Quiet.  And what do you know, the next time I was at their house, the book was waiting for me on the counter.  My dad will say, oh it just happened to be at the store when I was there, even if he had to travel to six different places to find it.

And a shout out to my sweet husband who also is a dedicated reader to this blog.  When he read the post about my fashion desires, he quickly text messaged the best shopper I know, Maureen.  He wanted to surprise me with a little present but was shocked when he searched for fur vests and found they were over 1,000 dollars.  Ryan, welcome to the word "faux."  Anyway, he told Maureen he wanted to get me something since I work so hard and Maureen later scoffed, "Elaine.  I mean we all work hard."  Ha. My mom beat him to the bunch, but don't you worry Ryan.  I'm sure I can think of something else that you can reward me with.  Love you.

This is a great mom article about everything we struggle with every single day.

This one really had me laughing.  I am guilty of so much on this list.  But seriously, who doesn't love pumpkin?

And a little tribute to Joan Rivers.

Happy Friday my friends!

Well, Well, Well

I feel like I just need to write a post.  Even a dumb post.  And then maybe my writing mojo will come back.  I wish I would make this blog more of a priority because I love looking back at Paul's monthly posts and remembering those times.  Tomorrow I am going to write Charlie's 9/10 month old post.  Because he's almost 11 months.  So that seems about right.

We are doing well.  We are busy.  Our jobs are busy.  Our two boys are very busy.  Our house is always messy but we are happy.  Very happy.

So onto the meat of this post.  Ankle boots.  Yay or nay?  Seriously this is what I am writing about.  I saw these at Target and tried them on, but I wasn't wearing the right pants so I wasn't sure.  But when I seem them around town I like them.

Okay, that's all I can do.  Better tomorrow, I promise!!

Friday Treats!

Friday Reads:
In the theme of breastfeeding, I love this post about deciding to quit pumping.  Obviously breastfeeding is an emotional topic for everyone!

And everyone read this post and applaud Janet's dedication to breastfeed her twins.  I think it is difficult feeding one, I can't imagine tandem feeding two!  This post is so inspirational!

Friday Eats:
I made this recipe for dinner this week and it was a big hit with everyone.  Or a big hit for Ryan and I since Paul has boycotted eating.

Friday Picture:

My mom sent this to me when she was watching the boys while we were at work.  For some reason looking at this single picture solidified the fact that I have TWO children.  Crazy business.  This picture was taken right before Paul informed my mom he wanted to toot in her face.

Friday Shopping:
I sent this shirt to Maureen with instruction to buy immediately.

Friday Video:
My favorite big boy that loves reading!

Falling...

When I was shopping last week I somehow tripped over my own feet and fell flat on my face, the contents of my purse going everywhere.  I was on my cell phone throughout the entire event and my friend Tori was hysterical on the other line trying to ask if I had just fallen through her enthusiastic laughter.  Immediately there were several people by my side asking if I was okay and helping me gather all my belongings.  Physically, I was okay.  Emotionally, I was scarred.

This experience was similar to the Sex and the City episode when Carrie Bradshaw splays across the store while shopping in Paris.

Unfortunately, unlike Carrie Bradshaw, I was not in Dior.  I was at the grocery store.
